Inflation Reduction Act: Enroll in MTF Data Module

Big changes are coming to LTC pharmacy via the Inflation Reduction Act.

Beginning January 1, 2026, any pharmacy that dispenses Medicare Part D drugs must be enrolled in the Medicare Transaction Facilitator (MTF) Data Enrollment Module to receive manufacturer refund payments.

This new CMS requirement helps track reimbursements and ensure accurate payments under the Maximum Fair Price (MFP) rules.

Since many of the first 10 MFP drugs are commonly used in LTC settings, early enrollment is especially important for LTC pharmacies. With current limited CMS staffing, the enrollment process may take longer than expected. Pharmacies must begin enrollment now to avoid payment delays or compliance issues.
