New Integra X Files Episode: “Solidarity…The Only Way Forward – Nurses and LTC Pharmacies”
PrimeCare® customers, Integra X Files co-hosts Frances Nahas and Jim McDonald were thrilled to sit down with Dr. Ernest Grant, president of the American Nurses Association, to discuss the role and circumstances of nursing at long-term care facilities – ongoing staffing shortages, maintaining mental well-being, and how nurses’ deep commitment to caring for patients remains key. Tune in to gain insights on ways LTC pharmacies and nursing can work together to improve communication and, most importantly, patient care.
Don’t miss out on the conversations that will help to reshape the future of long-term care pharmacy.
When the internet goes out, work halts, which means your pharmacy loses revenue. So, it’s important to minimize or prevent internet downtime. How? Internet redundancy – a secondary/different internet service provider.
If your primary service is interrupted due to a weather event, equipment failure, etc., your secondary one serves as a backup. An automatic failover limits business disruption. Interested in protecting your business this way? Contact a third-party internet provider or consult with your IT staff to ensure proper hardware capabilities and software configuration.
Cybersecurity Preparedness: Protect, Detect, and Recover
Like all businesses, your pharmacy is susceptible to cyberattacks, but because you hold sensitive patient data, it’s even more important to try to prevent one from happening. To mitigate risks:
Keep software applications and operating systems up to date.
Use antivirus and anti-malware solutions and firewalls to block threats.
Change passwords regularly and use multi-factor authentication where possible.
Maintain multiple copies of sensitive or proprietary data and servers in a physically separate, secure location.
Note, we’re doing our due diligence to protect our business assets as well. Please see our response to cyberattacks outlined in the following document: Cybersecurity Preparedness.
